Accomplishments:

JaapWillem.com: Setting up strategic plans and executing these plans for local and nationwide companies in Mexico. Based upon my strategic planning these companies have increased their online revenue with more then 100% and are continuing to grow their online revenues. This was a pioneering moment in a still sub-developed internet market and based upon my advice companies have been able to kick start their online activities without problems.

Netbooster: Setting up Pilot campaigns for Starwood Hotels in Spain with a global reach. During this pilot, I was the principal coordinator, between Netbooster and Starwood. Furthermore, I have implemented and analysed the campaigns based upon my international Marketing knowledge and experience. The campaigns achieved constantly at least 1000 ROI on basis of Advertisement Spend.

24/7 Realmedia: Setting up, organizing and optimizing campaigns in Spain, France, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. With my broad international knowledge I helped adapting the campaigns from for example Adidas, Ikea, Dell, Parship and Caribbean Hotels to the local needs.

At the end of my working period I was responsible for a 200.000 euro avg spend a month in Google Adwords, Yahoo Panama and MSN AdCenter combined.

bSeen, Belgium – Online Marketing Consultant – Gent, Belgium 2009 – 2010

On my return to Europe, I started working at bSeen, Belgium. My current position is Online Marketing Consultant and working on the more technical details of Online Marketing.

My work duties mainly consist of out of SEO related duties, such as technical adjustments and on-page recommendations and consultancy on the clients’ websites.

Furthermore I’m managing PPC campaigns on Google Adwords and Facebook Advertizing. This in combination with working on Conversion and Usability Consultancy to improve the ROI on the Online Marketing Projects.

I make my decisions based on the following percentages; 75% on basis of Analytics and proven facts and 25% on basis of my deep knowledge of International Marketing knowledge.

As a side project I’m setting up Best Practices for Link building, Mobile Search and Image search.

Freelance – Consultant- Guadalajara – Mexico 2009

After Netbooster I moved to Mexico with my Girlfriend, now Wife and started to educate Advertisement Agencies on the power of the internet.
Because of the starting stages of the internet in Mexico I’ve been able to educate and advise the Advertisement Agencies and their Clients on transforming their image from offline to online.
My main occupation was here setting up online strategic planning and translating offline marketing plans to online marketing plans.
Hereby I used all possible medias to connect the companies to their target groups, with for example Google Adwords, MSN display, Facebook and Hi5 Advertizing and Social Media interaction with their target groups.

The largest part of my clients consisted out of Hospitality Companies, Political Figures and Technology Companies.

Netbooster – Madrid – Spain 2008

At Netbooster Spain I became responsible for the Starwood Hotels Account in Spain.
This included the new pilot set-up of a Spanish campaign with global reach. I was working very closely with the local and European office of Starwood to promote all worldwide Starwood hotels within Spain. Furthermore I was responsible for advertising the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian hotels within Europe.
I had successfully used my multi-cultural and multi-national skills to the maximum with strategic decisions on a European level.
For the implementations of the campaigns we used the Atlas BidManager system and using the Google Adwords, Yahoo Panama and MSN Adcenter systems.
The ROI was calculated over the Advertising spend and have been greater then 1000.
Subsequently as well as promoting Starwoods Hotels I was responsible for Mango clothing shop in the USA, where we reached the target group with Google Adwords and the use of XML files within the Shopping Engines like Pricegrabber, Google Products and Yahoo Products. This campaign had been running on more then 800 ROI.

Next to my continuing interest in Social Media I started to use special localised mobile campaigns, which worked effectively for the Hospitality industry.

24/7 RealMedia – Madrid – Spain 2007 – 2008

In Madrid, I started to work for 24/7 RealMedia, an Online Marketing Agency, with a specialisation in Tourism and the Hospitality sector.

At 24/7 RealMedia I’ve broadened my knowledge about SEM and PPC campaigns further in Google Adwords, Yahoo Panama and MSN Adcenter. In addition I have executed 3 campaigns with MIVA before it moved away from continental Europe.
My daily duties included setting up, organising and optimising campaigns in Spain, France, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. With my broad international knowledge I helped to adapt the campaigns for the local needs which included Campaigns for Adidas, Ikea, Dell, Parship and Caribbean Hotels.
At the end of my working period I was responsible for a 200.000 euro average spend a month in Google Adwords, Yahoo Panama and MSN AdCenter combined.
I have reached this with a constant focus on Conversions and ROI. It is within my role at Realmedia that I had become a very data-driven person to make key strategic decisions.

It was during this time that I embarked on a side project and started to use Social Media. During my holidays in Central and South America I had shared my trip purely on Twitter. I addition I had used Linkedin at this moment in time to get in contact with Netbooster Spain and move on to the next job.

Direct Sales Consultant – Club Med – Paris 2006 – 2007

After Hotel du Lac I moved to Club Med in Paris as a direct sales consultant. At Club Med I was part of the Dutch and Belgium country team, whose responsibilities lay with the telephone sales to Consumers (B2C) and Agencies (B2B).
In this role I helped the team to reach record sales focusing on the needs of the clients and proposing adapted travels. I achieved the highest average value on orders three times through listening to clients and integrate upselling. Consequently the conversion rate increased with 5%.

My role as the direct sales consultant resulted in an increase in orders moving towards the internet. It is for this reason that I welcomed the opportunity to start working in Madrid, Spain.

Marketing Assistent – Hotel Du Lac – Crozant 2005 – 2006

As a marketing assistant I was responsible for the practical execution of both the offline and online marketing endeavours of the Hotel. Consequently there was a 50% increase in international visitors and a 25% increase in hotel guests.

The integrated online and offline execution allowed the business to use classic channels, like brochures, original business cards and advertising in local newspapers, and the online channels, Google Adwords, Website promotion and SEO optimization.
