Kodak: an icon is bankrupt

Kodak just filled for bankruptcy.

A huge photographic icon is no more.

I was raised by the notion that Kodak was the go to place to to develop your photos. Of course Fiji Film was around as well but it never got the same level of tracking here in The Netherlands.

When I travelled I always went to Kodak develop studios because you know that the quality will be topnotch.

As told before Kodak actually helped a great deal with the push into digital photography but it never had the same level of success.

1986: Kodak scientists created the world’s first megapixel sensor, capable of recording 1.4 million pixels and producing a photo-quality 12.5 x 17.5 cm (5×7 inch) print. (Wikipedia article)

Now they have to streamline their business and I really hope they will pull it of, so they don’t have to sue everyone in all industries .
